Fugitive remnants of a polychrome painted overglaze floral design in the famille rose enamels are visible
on the front of the vessel. The arched shoulders and overhanging rim of this rectangular tea caddy are
characteristic of the second half of the eighteenth
century (Pinto De Matos et al. 1996). |
