Description: Checker made of wood, with 3 concentric circles on both sides.

History: The game of checkers-or draughts-originated in ancient Egypt and Greece. The availability of checkers increased as machine-made wooden pieces replaced hand-made discs in the later 19th century. Plastic game pieces began production in the 20th century (The Strong).
