Site Date Range: Late 19th to early 20th century Materials: Continental European hard paste porcelain Dimensions: 1.5” Height Description: Porcelain toy teapot, Lot 139 History: When the manufacture of Continental European hard paste porcelain became widespread in the 19th century, factories began producing toy tea sets and doll accessories (Small Talk 2015). Tea sets became especially popular in the second half of the century, but it is very difficult to attribute these pieces to particular manufacturers. |
