Wilkins in Keene, New Hampshire. The company manufactured pressed tin and steel toys, including automobiles. In 1919, the company changed its name to the Kingsbury Manufacturing Company. This tire, molded “Kingsbury Toys, Keene, N.H. USA” dates after the 1919 name change. Early Wilkins automotive toys were equipped with specially-designed disc wheels with real, white rubber non- skid tires vulcanized to the wheel. Lot 149 |
