Materials: Painted bisque porcelain (also known as parian).

Description: Fragment of face of socket head doll with painted eyebrow and eyelashes. Bisque porcelain dolls with jointed cloth bodies and flowing hair were available through catalogs like the 1895 Montgomery Ward catalog for as little as fifty cents. (Fellows 1990:93).
