Description: Bone handled toothbrush with wire drawn attachment and copper alloy staining on back. Stamped on front:  “England” near stock and “Hochschild Kohn & Co. Baltimore” and “Drawn Wire/Sterling/Silver Wire” on handle. Stamped on reverse: “Gold Cemented” in script and “Warranted/ W. R. Tilbury/London England” on handle.

Notes: Hochschild Kohn was a department store chain based in Baltimore.  The chain was first started in 1897 and it remained in business until 1984.

W. R. Tilbury & Co., Brush Manufacturers, Hackney, London, England was in operation from 1880 and at least through World War I. This company made toothbrushes, as well as shaving and nail brushes.
