This project, "Maryland Unearthed: A Guide to Archaeological Collections at the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory," was generously funded by the Maryland State Highways Administration through a Transportation Enhancement Program grant. We are particularly indebted to Gregory J. Brown, Cultural Resource Information Manager for the Maryland Historical Trust. He designed the web interface for this project, with assistance from independent consultant Joe Brown. Maryland Historical Trust staff members Jen Chadwick-Moore, Dennis Curry, and Matt McKnight worked with project staff to insure that the database would complement the Synthesis Project undertaken at the Trust's Crownsville office.

Staff at the Maryland State Highways Administration deserves special mention for their administrative assistance throughout the entirety of the project. Kate Ellis, Transportation Alternatives Coordinator, shepherded us through the first several years of the project. After Kate's retirement, we were placed in the capable hands of Britney Jackson, Transportation Alternatives Assistant, and Jessica Shearer. Julie Schablitsky, Chief Archaeologist for the Maryland State Highways Administration, suggested that we apply for funding through the TEP program and we are grateful for her encouragement.

The full-time project staff members deserve special acknowledgment. Annette Cook and Alex Glass did the lion's share of data collection and entry and had to deal with the challenges of taking hundreds of grey literature archaeological reports and getting the data into a standardized format. Rebecca Morehouse and Erin Wingfield provided assistance at a number of levels, including database design and pulling field records and reports. Sharon Raftery scanned a large number of archaeological reports for this project, and Mary Louise de Sarran of the Maryland Historical Trust provided reports that were not in the MAC Lab Library. Evie Cohen and Suzanne Mbollo of the Maryland Historical Trust and Denise America of JPPM provided expert guidance on various aspects of grant administration for the project.
