ADDWAT V-5 (18PR373)

18PR373 was located by shovel testing. The site's probable function was that of a limited activity short-term exploitive camp. Site area is probably restricted to the amount of level terrain.

John Milner Associates conducted a Phase I survey of the Waterfront & Gudelski parcels of the Port America development project in 1987. 18PR373 was recorded during the survey. No Phase I report was ever submitted to MHT.

In 1997 John Milner Associates conducted a Phase II investigation. Artifacts included Late Woodland ceramics, ground slate, and lithic debitage. Although at one time the area had been under cultivation, artifacts are thought to occur below the Ap. This site may also represent a poorly documented site type and could provide information about Late Woodland subsistence and settlement patterns. It was recommended for further testing.
