Ware Name
Defining Attributes
Presents the most diagnostic features of each ware in general
terms.
Chronology
Discussion of the time range when the ware was manufactured.
Description
Fabric
Describes the body or paste of the ware, including temper.
Glaze
Describes the types of coatings used. Glazes are applied to make
pots impervious to liquids or for decorative purposes.
Decoration
Describes the decorative techniques used on the ware.
Form
Describes the range of vessel shapes produced in the ware.
References
Lists references cited in the ware definitions. Each citation
is linked to the bibliography, so when it is clicked the full reference
will be provided.
Notes
Provides additional information on the history of the ware,
and archaeological information not covered above.
