Description:
Two-tined steel fork with pin tang inserted into a cylindrical ivory oistol grip handle that has been dyed green. This fork was found behind the north wall of the North Dressing Room at Mount Vernon. The handle and the steel body are joined with a silver ferrule. This fork was likely purchased by George Washington in the late 1760s or early 1770s.
