Wesley Grove North (18AN173)
Site History
This site represents a precontact period lithic scatter in what is now Baltimore Commons Business Park. Since its late 19th-century discovery by T.D. Jones, the site has been destroyed by gravel mining, as reported by G. Conrad and S. Geasey after a 1976 Phase I corridor survey.
Archaeological Investigations
Field notes written by T. D. Jones describe large numbers of projectile points and cached rhyolite blades, but they seem to have been found on four sites (18AN261, 18AN262, 18AN172, and 18AN173) that he designated as T.D. Jones Field J. These artifacts are curated at the MAC Lab.
