Site History

The Pleasant Plains Farm 1 (18AN828) site is a late 17th- to early 18th-century artifact concentration located on a tributary of Ridout Creek in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The site is located on a parcel patented in 1669 by Capt. Wm. Fuller, one of the Puritans of Providence.

Archaeological Investigations

The site was discovered during a field visit by Anne Arundel County Archaeologist Al Luckenbach and archaeologist Esther Doyle Read in 1991. Artifacts noted during the visit included two sherds of plain tin glazed earthenware, 1 polychrome tin glazed earthenware sherd, Rhenish sprig molded blue and purple, and brown salt glazed stoneware (Rhenish or English).
