Shepard Barracks (18MO4)

The Shepard Barracks (18MO4) is a multicomponent site consisting of Paleoindian, Archaic, and Early Woodland camps and a Late Woodland village located on the Potomac River along the Chesapeake and Ohio canal in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Archaeological Investigations

Between 1958 and 1959, the Archeological Society of Maryland conducted excavations at 18MO4. The excavations were described by Larrabee (1962) as only "exploratory," but no other detail was provided.
