Park Millrace (18PR150)
Site History
The Park Millrace site (18PR150) is a late 19th-century mill raceway located on Paint Branch in Prince Georges County. The raceway may have belonged to "Mrs. Harpers Woolen Factory," shown on the 1865 Martenet and Bond map of Prince George's County.
Archaeological Investigations
The raceway was reported to the Maryland Geological Survey in 1976 by Bro. James McPike, avocational archaeologist. No structural remains were noted, but the raceway was clearly visible. Brother Pike reported finding one projectile point on the property in 1965. No further work took place at this site.
