Site History

The Denny Farm 3 site (18QU285) is the site of a colonial refuse pit located near Crab Alley Creek on Kent Island in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland.

Archaeological Investigations

This site was identified in 1992 during Darrin L. Lowery's Kent Island survey, during a survey of the shoreline of Crab Alley Creek. The eroding clay bank showed a small pit feature containing a shell, glass, and ceramics. While the feature was likely associated with a domestic residence, no 18th-century living site could be located.
